Is your player advancing with baseball past UPYA little league or ready to try baseball for the first time after the age of 12? We receive many requests from parents of younger players because they don’t understand what the next level of baseball looks like. Below is a explanation. If you have more questions, please email us at [email protected].

Fall baseball – Connie Mack

  • Season starts typically after Labor Day weekend and the season concludes at the end of October.
  • Games are typically on the weekend.
  • Practices are usually held 1-2 days a week (depending on the coach, field availability, and player availability). Coaches understand there are other sports going on.
  • Players/teams are separated based on age and occasionally skill level.
  • All players who register for the fall season are placed on a team. There are no tryouts. It is similar to the recreational league that you are accustomed to in little league. However, you will be playing against other local towns such as Quakertown, Perk Valley, Springford, Doylestown, etc.
  • Age eligibility: (immediately after you age out of little league) 12-16 and date cutoff is 5/1 of the current year. Registration will indicate eligibility.
  • Home games are typically played on the high school field, along Montgomery Ave.
  • Registration typically opens in the middle of August and is online on our website.

Summer baseball – Connie Mack and Youth Legion

  • Season typically starts in the beginning of April and games typically start after Memorial Day weekend. The season concludes at the end of July.
  • Games are during the week and on weekends.
  • Registration typically opens at the end of January and is online on our website.

Connie Mack versus Youth Legion

  • Connie Mack: All players who register for the summer season are placed on a team.
  • Youth Legion: Players tryout (similar to travel baseball in the youth level). Those who do not make the team are placed on an age appropriate Connie Mack team.

Connie Mack - Summer

  • Practices are usually held 1-2 days a week (depending on the coach, field availability, and player availability).
  • Players/teams are separated based on age and occasionally skill level.
  • All players who register for the summer season are placed on a team. There are no tryouts. You will be playing against other local towns such as Quakertown, Perk Valley, Springford, Doylestown, etc.
  • Depending on the quantity of players and ages, the teams are entered in different levels offered by the league. For example, we could have one team in a higher, more competitive level, or a “C” level consisting of 13 year old players. Each year the organization has an understanding of where the group of players are and determines what we believe is best for the team.
  • Age eligibility: 13-16 and date cutoff is 5/1 of the current year (so some players may be 17). Registration will indicate eligibility.
  • Home games are typically played on the high school field, along Montgomery Ave. Occasionally we will utilize the Perkiomen School field.
  • There are typically 3-4 games per week, depending on how many teams are in the league.
  • At the end of the regular season, there are playoffs.

Youth Legion - Summer

  • Practices are usually held 1-2 days a week (depending on the game schedule).
  • There is one team (Upper Perkiomen Braves), consisting of anywhere between 11-16 players. This is the most competitive team.
  • You must try out and make the team to be eligible. If your player does not make the team, they will be placed on an age appropriate Connie Mack team. You will be playing against other local towns such as Perk Valley, Spring City, Kutztown, Twin Valley, etc.
  • Age eligibility: 13-16 and is based on the year the player was born. Registration will indicate eligibility.
  • Games are played on the high school field, near the tennis courts. Occasionally we will utilize the Perkiomen School field.
  • There are typically 5-6 games per week, depending on how many teams are in the league.
  • At the end of the regular season, there are playoffs. If the team advances from the Divisional series, they will advance to the regional tournament. If the team advances from the regional tournament, they will play in the state tournament.
    • Recently, the Braves are 3 time defending champions (2021, 2022, 2023 Regional Champions)
    • The Braves took 2nd place in the State tournament in 2022.
